Work Schedule Summary

Position is expected to start 5/14/18 and end 8/17/18.
Maximum of 400 hours (10 weeks), 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. No work will be performed on the following holiday-July 4th.

Responsibilities

Job Duty Function Internship
Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and teach a community 4-H club with projects related to 4-H FCS projects
• Plan, organize and teach FCS activities in local summer programs
• Develop and implement a social media campaign to market 4-H FCS projects in Cassia County
• Assist with various 4-H programs as assigned.
• Assist with completing a community health assessment
• Assist with organizing health coalition meetings

PROVIDED SUPPORT
• Program supplies
• A positive learning experience with strong, engaged mentors
• Use of computer, printer and copy machine
• Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed at University of Idaho rates when local travel is required

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have completed a minimum of one semester (12 credits) at an Idaho public university or an Idaho Public university college student and currently enrolled for the next semester. Priority will be given to UI student applicants.
• Must provide own transportation and have the ability to travel to multiple worksites
• Pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Outgoing and comfortable working with the public (youth and adults) and volunteers
• Self-motivated and works independently
• Has completed coursework in Family and Consumer Sciences, Health, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Food Science, Agriculture or other relevant subject areas.
• Has experience answering phones, responding to email, communicating through social media
• Speaks Spanish
• Enjoys working in a variety of settings and environments with diverse audiences
